Good News from San Antonio, Texas: The Freedom Bus caravan to Hutto prison camp is well on the way. I have organized several press conferences with National Lulac President Rosa Rosales, Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice and community organizations, and the Brown Berets mobilizing for June 9 and the coalition of June 23rd.

People will be coming from the Corpus Christi area, Austin, Del Rio, Houston, El Paso, and Dallas. "Join the Freedom Bus " Campaign to Free the Children. Marcello Tafolla, National LULAC CIVIL RIGHTS CO-CHAIR, has been in communications with me regarding the "Freedom Bus " caravans. We met in El Paso Texas with the LULAC, Texas State Convention May 26, 07 where National LULAC President, Rosa Rosales, wrote a resolution, which I introduced and  read to all the delegates, since I was Co-Chair of the resolutions committe and it was unanimously passed.

On June 23rd, the Brown Berets,Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice, LULAC, President Rosa Rosales, Labor Council for Latin American Advancement-AFL-CIO, Fuerza Unida a grassroots organization, religious, students, and Univision, will be on the Freedom Bus, ( I am waiting on confirmation from Congressman Ciro Rodriguez to see if he will join us also on the "Freedom Bus" to Hutto.) Univision will be on our Freedom Bus to document our trip to the Hutto Prison camp in Taylor Texas.

Now is the time to Close the Prison for Profits, HUTTO and others in the State of Texas who incarcerate immigrant families and innocent children.

Now is the time to continue our letter writing campaign and call the "Politicos" in Washington D.C. to Close these prisons for profit and not appropriate one-cent for these prisons.

Now is the time to protest and stop the inhumane raids and jailings of hard working immigrant families and stop the separation of children and families in America "The Land of the Free " I met Cesar E. Chavez when I was a young man; and worked with the Labor movement and the cause of the Farmworker movement until his passing , he showed me that by organizing and never give up, working in Unity with all races, to fight against injustice, and human rights in Solidarity, we will win...because our cause is a just cause and in the end we will win !

If anyone wants to join our Freedom Bus and Caravan in San Antonio, Texas, call me Jaime P. Martinez, 210-842-9339. The Freedom Bus will leave from our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1321 El Paso at 10:00 a.m. right after our press conference. We will be calling on a National ban on these prisons for profit.

In Unity;

Jaime P. Martinez, Chairperson/Organizer/Founder
Cesar E. Chavez March for Justice, San Antonio, Texas
Texas Labor Council for Latin American Advancement-AFL-CIO
Immigration Chair
National LULAC Treasurer/ Labor Advisor to National LULAC

FW: Teach-IN on

Hello all, Javier Iribarren, one of our California supporters, just sent this information to me.  I am forwarding it to you in his behalf to see if you and or your organization's people in the LA area have an interest in participating.

I will also send it to Jay, if and when the email service at his hotel is again working correctly.

As a note, we do not have artwork from the children at Hutto; one of our No Child Left Behind Bars members has asked other children to express their feelings about children being behind bars.

If you're interested, just communicate directly with Javier and copy me so I can try to let jjj know what is going on!
Thanks so much,
Sarah

Hi Javier,

Thanks so much for getting in touch.
It would be great to have information about the ICE raids and the private corporate gulags at the Teach-IN.

We will provide you with table space and if you can get the youth art to us in a power-point exhibition we can project it in a loop with CSPG's exhibition.

Again my cell is 310 709 8602
Please use both of my emails in any correspondence.
