> If anyone attended the rally on May 1st in front of San Fernando Cathedral, you probably received a flyer titled "Help Stop Child Imprisonment." The flyer has a black and white photo of a child with the biggest letters highlighting the date "May 24th" as the focal point, and the child is obscured symmetrically. In the flyer, it states it is a rally to close Hutto at Heritage Park in "Tyler" Texas, and it starts at 12:00 p.m. That was my great concern of the city to demonstrate, possibly a typo or internal intentions to ward off right wing minutemen supporters. It also says three bands will perform: Karnaval, Arma Musical, and Karma. For More info, please call Gina 884-8597, Antonio 396-9805, Ofelia 232-2685, and Javier 724-3400. With the high gas prices at $3.60 a gallon in San Anto, to fill a 15 gallon tank would cost $54.00 for the roundtrip. This past week at my work, I was missing $38.00 from my check and it will be added to the next check, with a bonus premium of $75.00 for working on Sundays for the past 6 months. Many people are camping out for their stimulus checks and hoping money fills their materialistic needs. With the high gas prices, we conform to the everyday rising of prices. People like myself who make a living wage have to calculate and budget everything to pay for bills, raise a family, and gas. In desperate times, a payday loan comes available with proper paperwork to make ends meet. I am not like Jimmy Hoffa with the Teamster's Union, or Jaime Martinez who can rent a bus to protest in Taylor, Texas. Jaime Martinez is a powerful man and can get a coach just by snapping his fingers. Last year, Tony Mandujano did his dirty work by mobilizing Raza to attend Protestpalooza at the Hutto Residential Center by filling the bus with LULAC members. The same national organization received funds from CCA. I hope those attending on May 24th will not be sabotaged by wrong dates, high gas prices, and the dynamic duo Jaime Martinez & Tony Mandujano. If I can, I will make a commitment to travel. -peace! PR
