Marching in Unity & Peace through S.A.

I am still in awe over the book that I'm reading about Cesar E. Chavez, in which he called La Migra. That's like Tony Mandujano asking me for advice in which he should call INS on the Peruvian family member of his who is harrassing Tony Mandujano for repayment of his loan. I told Tony Mandujano that it would be a bad idea and told him a scenario in which it could be my mother that he calls La Migra. In dealing with an old issue that the UFW and Cesar E. Chavez called La Migra on the strikebreakers, it's rising on the internet due to Immigration protests nationwide since 2006. I don't believe that Cesar E. Chavez would help out in any way if he were alive to Comprehensive Immigration Reform but probably join Dolores Huerta and other leaders to get Hillary Clinton elected instead. Cesar E. Chavez is still my hero just as Jaime Martinez is to others. I will not buy into the fact that Cesar E. Chavez is anti-immigrant but only dealing with immigrant strikebreakers. He did call La Migra.
In my opinion, like Elvira Arrellano wearing this T-shirt saying "Who Would Jesus Deport?" is ludicrous to think "Who Would Cesar E. Chavez Deport?" Cesar E. Chavez used this tactic (calling La Migra on the strikebreakers) as a last alternative, but used it nevertheless. In times like these, many undocumented do labor jobs that are not part of Unions. Last month in Los Angeles, CA, the AFL-CIO is trying to organize Los Car-washeros. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner refuses to have his cadillac washed by Los Car-washeros and uses tokens to wash his car. Why have we not heard during these times a proposal by the UFW in dealing with the undocumented when working in the fields. A 5 year guest worker program is currently being proposed by Nancy Pelosi. Are we talking about the Bracero Program all over again & no union contracts for cheaper labor from other countries as guest workers? Sounds too good to be true? In opposite to Pelosi's plan, the SAVE Act would e-verify every employee federally.
Major co-sponsors of the SAVE Act are democrats like the Honorable Ciro Rodriguez of the Congressional District 23. The SAVE Act calls for 8,000 more border patrol agents (La Migra) and recently have been armed with 1,000 belgium paintball rifles to combat rock throwers along the Mexican border. These painball guns could make someone lose an eye, or injure them in some way. They shoot out projectiles like pepper spray pellets and used against those who are throwing rocks at the border patrol agents in the Yuma, Tuscon, and San Diego sector. The LAPD just had a training session at Dodger Stadium in dealing with rowdies for May 1st demonstrations in Los Angeles. More than 250 people were hurt last year during May 1st in Los Angeles. Could they be using these new tools like border patrol agents against the demonstrators? Today, on Channel 41, members of a coalition for May 1st in San Anto said that the march will start at 5pm at Milam Park. On Friday, a writer for the San Antonio Express-News at www.MySA.com said that the march will start at Milam Park, march to the Alamo, then back to another rally at the renovated Main Plaza. Co-founder of the Cesar Chavez March Antonio Diaz said "pushing supportive candidates into political office would have a greater impact." The title of this article is: Immigration march, rally lose momentum by Hernan Rozemberg, email hrozemberg@express-news.net
Even though this march may be smaller like the media explains, I will never forget in 2006 how LULAC members like Hector Flores and Henry Rodriguez suppressed the youth movement by telling them to stay in school and not walk-out. It was heartbreaking to learn that LULAC leaders were not in full support of the youth movement, and that they were considered naive in politics and immigrant rights. I plan to be there at Milam Park this Thursday and hopefully you can join me and my family for another May 1st demonstration as we march peacefully through San Anto. I'm looking forward to hearing speakers, networking, sharing information, reading flyers, and helping those in need of JUSTICE. I may be a single person involved in many issues altogether, but it is connected to Mother Earth, as we are the children of the corn reclaiming Aztlan and fighting for those who can't fight for themselves. I am not as powerful as Jaime Martinez but my background in education makes up for that. ¡Sí Se Puede!
