Jay, you have an impressive immigrant rights resume. I received your emails in early 2006 in which they were forwarded to me by other activists the planning of your marches. I was amazed that one person was doing this without the structure of an organization. It somewhat inspired me to do things radically as an individual rather than an as organization. I read your letters in La Voz de Esperanza as well. I was doing research on immigration rights movement and your name was in hundreds of websites, perhaps as many as Elvira Arrellano. Have you ever received a tour inside the T. Don Hutto Residential Center and actually played with the children? Have you been given permission by Homeland Security and Corrections Corporation of America to enter the facility and "document" your experiences, and do special interviews with the many families incarcerated at Hutto? I've never been inside Hutto. I was invited to attend by LULAC when they were going to be giv en a tour. ICE denied me access because of my activism. Have you ever received blood money from CCA or LULAC to be a speaker or to do a presentation, or perhaps find another project? Everything I do has been out of my own pocket. I've never received any money from any organization, let alone LULAC or CCA. Sometimes, individuals have given me some gas money, bought me a taco or put me up in their home. Have you been able to dismantle the Hutto facility and liberate the children altogether? If I had, there would be no Hutto. Are you in alliance with Rosa Rosales and Jaime Martinez? I work in solidarity with anyone that will stand on the same ground. I work with Rosa, Jaime, as well as with folks that do not like to work with them. I'm not about division. I'm about building alliance and pulling things together. I go to organizations for solidarity...and support for a cause. LULAC has endorsed many of my protests and walks. The Citizens Walk for Human Dignity was endorsed by some 50 organizations, including LULA C and the Cesar Chavez Foundation, but we also had Amnesty International, International Indian Treaty Council, ACLU, Humane Borders, etc. That's the only way to fight the really dark side. Divisions amonst the activist groups is a formula for failure and defeat. When the dark side sees division between "hermanos" they laughlingly rejoice. That's what they want. You know. "United we stand. Divided we fall." That's whey the racist supremacists rule. They have successfully gotten Hispanics/Latinos, Blacks and Native Americans at each others throats. I will not engage in polarity. It's a formula for failure. I will not be an accomplice to division and divisiveness. Are you aware that Lulac and CCA still have a relationship together? No. Returning the money was the first step, and now Lulac and CCA have to publicly announce their marriage. I understand that they did both things, returned the money and renounced their connection with CCA. I do know that they have sponsored legislation that would close Hutto down. How much knowledge do you have on Lulac's history with right wing politicians and English only programs? Lulac is Pro War, and even states in the Lulac Code to join the War in time of War for our country. I have no knowledge of LULAC's stand on such things. First of all, I'm not about "raza"...unless it's the raza humana completa. I have seen General Ricardo Sanchez being paraded with Lulac as their hero at a Lulac National banquet. Maybe there are things in life you should not really see because if you do, you will be exposed to injustices and may want to partake in a revolution. Maybe the world should be viewed through broken glass because our search for a perfect view is horrifying? I mentioned your name as a Superhero like Batman, Superman, or Spiderman. Now, that's funny. I took it as if I was not doing something or not doing enough(:}). But, one thing for sure. I ain't no super anything. Just one grassroots citizen...shocked and outraged that our country would build Berlin like walls, raid and imprison desperate hard working refugees...including children...and do so for money! So, thanks for the compliment. See Batman Begins or Spiderman III to know what I am talking about. Cont...I'll hav e to wait to see the movies when they come out on cable. Can't afford to go to the silver screen...seriously. In solidarity... Jay
